I Found My Toes...And I Like Them!

DJ has discovered his feet and can't seem to keep them out of his mouth. Every chance he gets (bath time, changing time, etc.) he seems to take a taste.

After playing with Cousin Aiden's exersaucer while we were in MD, we decided to get one this week. DJ really enjoys the time he spends in it, he even likes it before we put the batteries in it. Our friend Damien has one for his daughter and call it the executive chair because it has so many gadgets on it. Thank you Aunt Stephanie and Uncle George!

Sunday 4/30 - DJ tries rice cereal. He has been staring at mom and dad's food recently and grabbing for everything that we have so we thought we would try to give him some cereal. He swallowed about half of what was put in his mouth and only focused enough to eat about 10 spoons full and then decided that he wanted something a little easier like the bottle. He seemed to like the cereal, we will try again tomorrow night.

Who knew cereal would be this messy?

DJ gets a bottle from Daddy after cereal

My first Levis (thanks Liz & Eric)

And for those of you who have been wondering how Sophie is doing...as you can see she is basking in the glory of her rubber balls. She is great around DJ, he lights up when he sees her.

I have decided to create this blog so that all of our friends and family can get their DJ updates at their leisure. It is my intent to update this at least weekly and hopefully I will get to do it a couple of times each week.

DJ and I got together with our play group last Wednesday and went for lunch in Long Beach. We try to get together with them at least once a week. Aiden (middle) belongs to Kirstie and is exactly 1 month older than DJ. Tom (left) belongs to Petra and is also 1 month older than DJ. I met Petra in my prenatal yoga class and met Kirstie though Petra. The 3 of us have so much in common as we all delivered at the same hospital, we all had C-sections, we all had boys and all 3 boys ended up spending some time in the NICU. Kirstie and I discovered we live in the same city and had the same OB/GYN, small world! We are all new mommies and enjoy spending time together.

For those of you who may have forgot, DJ spent 1 week in the NICU receiving antibiotics for an elevated C reactive protein level. He checked out on Christmas Eve with a clean bill of health and hasn't had any issues since (thank goodness).

DJ went for his 4 month check up on Friday. He weighed 14 lbs 13 oz and was 26" long, he is growing fast! He got 4 shots and cried while Daddy held him still. I had to leave the room in order to cope. He came home and slept very well that night. The weekend was relatively quiet. Today we met up with the playgroup again for a walk in the Japanese Garden at Cal State Long Beach. We have an addition to our playgroup now, Gabby. She belongs to Damien who is a stay at home dad that doesn't mind hanging out with a bunch of women. After our walk we went to Gabby's house for some play time. Well that's all for now...stay tuned.
