To The Snow With Daddy

DJ made 2 trips to the snow this year with Daddy. The first picture was taken at the local mountains and the rest were taken on DJ and Daddy's trip to Mammoth Mountain.

The Duck Park

DJ loves this park. He always feeds the ducks first and then goes and play on all the equipment, pretty much a weekend ritual for us.

A story I just had to share...

Yesterday DJ and I went to Target to pick out a movie for him to watch since today is (as predicted) a very rainy day and school is closed. We picked out a movie and went to the check out line (which was a bit long) where DJ saw a toy that someone had obviously changed their mind about and set on the counter near the check out. I told him he could look at the toy if we wanted to. I asked him if he wanted me to hold his movie for him while he looked at the toy, he said, "Yes. Mommy you are a good helper." I just laughed :)

Aquarium of the Pacific

School's were closed for MLK day last month so Tessa and Brody invited us to go to the aquarium. It was DJ's first visit and he loved it. He wasn't ready to touch anything in the kid's touch tanks yet but really wanted one of the Lorakeets to jump on his finger (see picture below). We will definitely go back for more visits.

It was so funny, this bird just randomly landed on my back in the Lorakeet forest.

DJ was very excited to make cookies with mommy but wasn't really interested in eating any once they were done...guess he didn't inherit my sweet tooth!

Grandma Pat and Papa let DJ take this big boy bike home since he has outgrown his tricycle. As you can see from the video we are still working on mastering turning the bike. We were at Grandma Pat's house this day before we took the bike home. You can laugh, he wasn't hurt :)

Our last day in MD was balmy and in the 60's. DJ was dying to get outside and do some yardwork with Grandpa.

Christmas 2008 in MD

This past Christmas was spent in MD. DJ and I spent the night at Katey's house so all 3 boys could wake up together on Christmas morning. As I was posting the pictures below I realized that I missed a bunch of shots like all 3 of the cousins together and a least one family shot.

We were supposed to be scaling back this year...

Zoo Lights

While in MD we checked out Zoo Lights at the National Zoo in DC. It starts in the evening when it is dark and in place of the animals the zoo put lighted displays where the animals would noramlly be seen. DJ had a great time, we were the first ones in and stayed until 15 mins before closing. Recommended event if you are in the DC area in December.
